A child was injured in a landmine explosion in the vicinity of Karnaz town in the northern countryside of Hama, central Syria, this evening Wednesday 23 December 2020.
The injuries sustained by the child were severe, he was rushed to the nearby hospital and the doctors had to amputate one of his feet, a local source in the police department stated.
The incident happened in the farmlands of the town of Karnaz, some 8 kilometers to the northeast of As Suqaylabiyah in the northwestern countryside of Hama, the region is predominantly Christian which made it a constant target for the US-sponsored Al Qaeda, FSA, and ISIS terrorists.
This landmine was planted by the Nusra Front aka Al Qaeda Levant, it’s a terrorist group enlisted on the United Security Council’s list of terrorist organizations and is considered one of the main groups operating in Syria under the control of the regime of the Turkish madman Erdogan.
US-sponsored terrorist groups planted a massive number of landmines and explosives of all shapes in areas infested by them before they were defeated at the hands of the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.
The landmines and the explosives are scoring high among the Syrian civilians returning to their towns and villages they fled from when the ‘freedom fighters’ arrived. It’s an overwhelming task for the Syrian authorities to demine and clean all the regions liberated from terrorists especially when the USA and its European Union minions impose the harshest and unprecedented sanctions against a single country ever, and their disruptive efforts to impede the work of the United Nations Mine Action Service UNMAS, as detailed in this previous report:
