Venezuela Ambassador José Gregorio Biomorgi Muzattiz was decorated with the Syrian Medal of Merit, Excellent Class at his farewell ceremony held at the Dama Rose Hotel, 24 October. H.E. Biomorgi is leaving the ambassadorship to fulfill new duties as Vice-Minister of Industrial Development of the Ministerio del Poder Popular para Industrias y Producción Nacional (MPPIPN).
Assistant Foreign Minister Dr. Ayman Soussan presented the award to His Excellency Biomorgi in appreciation for his honorable work and efforts to “strengthen relations” between Syria and Venezuela (which, contrary to the actions of certain NATO countries, is what the art of diplomacy is supposed to do, better relationships between countries). Soussan “highlighted the deep friendship between Venezuela and Syria,” stating that the “two countries share the same suffering” of US conspiracies and unilateral coercive measures.
The Venezuela ambassador expressed his thanks to President Assad and stated he considered the award an incentive to continue working to fortify the bilateral relationship of the countries and to continue to transmit to the world the reality of the foreign war of terror imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic. “The diplomat stressed that the victory of Syria and the firmness of its people in the face of the terrorist war are changing history and paving the way for the formulation of a new multipolar world.”
Ambassador Biomorgi noted that Venezuela faces a similar war by the same hegemonic [neo-colonialist] powers.
In December 2018, Dr. Biomorgi — who holds a Ph.D. in chemistry — presented his credentials to President al Assad.
Dr. Soussan also expressed his confidence that Venezuela, with the revolutionary legacy of Hugo Chavez, will win against the foreign conspiracy.
The keen friendship of Venezuela and Syria was also seen in the dedication of the Hugo Chavez Garden on the grounds of the University of Damascus, on 8 March 2021, the International Day of the Woman.
