Israel bombed several posts on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus resulting in injuring two Syrian Arab Army soldiers and inflicting material damage.
A Syrian military spokesperson said in a statement carried by the Syrian news agency SANA:
“At approximately 22:05 today, Sunday 17 December 2023, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the Damascus countryside. Our air defense forces intercepted and shot down several of the aggression’s missiles.”
The statement concluded: “The Israeli aggression led to the injury of two soldiers and some material losses.”

The latest Israeli aggression against Syria, the 2nd in a week and 10th since Israel started its holocaust against the Palestinians in Gaza, in northern occupied Palestine by the Lebanese Hezb Allah, and recently in the Red Sea by Yemen, is aimed at raising the morale in the US-led NATO-sponsored anti-Jewish Zionist entity after failing to achieve any military goal in Gaza and to prolong the US-led war of terror against the Syrian people.
Illegal US Army bases in Syria and Iraq have been on the receiving end of continuous bombing by the Iraqi Resistance since the beginning of the Israeli holocaust of Gaza in addition to the bombing of these bases by the Syrian Resistance each time Israel bombs Syria, we expect an increase in these bombings by the Iraqi PMU and also to settle the score for this latest Israeli bombing by the Syrian Resistance.
