US-sponsored ISIS terrorists in Daraa kill a Syrian police officer, injuring two policemen and three civilians in an IED explosion in the city of Daraa, southern Syria Wednesday 18 January 2023.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior said in a statement conveyed by the Syrian news agency SANA:
“Honorary Major Faris Khalil of the Special Tasks Unit in Damascus was martyred, and the two policemen, Muhammad Dhiab and Fadi Hammadi of the Special Tasks Unit in Daraa, and three civilians were injured, as a result of an explosive device detonating in Bosra Square in the city of Daraa, coinciding with their passage near it while performing their duty. the National.”
The body of the martyred officer and the injured were rushed to the National Hospital in Daraa, the statement concluded.
Local sources said the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) was planted on the side of the road in Bosra Square, a dense residential area, in the city of Daraa, where the police riot control patrol would usually park their vehicle, the IED was detonated when the car parked disregarding the lives of the civilians surrounding it at the time.
Another terrorist attack that can be attributed only to the remnants of ISIS (ISIL – Daesh) terrorists who fled the city of Daraa after the Syrian Arab Army liberated it in September 2021 and headed toward the illegal US military base in the Al Tanf area in the southeastern Syrian desert where the base set a 55 kilometers safe zone surrounding it, a safe zone in which only ISIS terrorists can move in and out freely but closed in the face of the Syrian security forces.
