Netherlands: Woman Arrested for Recruiting Jihadists to Fight in Syria

Windmill in Holland

A 19-year-old Dutch woman was arrested by the authorities in Netherlands for the attempt to recruit several extremists to fight alongside the armed terrorists and Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot (Jabhat al-Nusra / al-Nusra Front) in Syria.

The Netherlands authorities have arrested this young Dutch woman under the suspect of the attempt to recruit jihadists and other extremists in Netherlands so that these “recruits” will join the armed terrorists and Syrian Al-Qaeda branch in Syria – and thus, the now arrested young woman in Netherlands, just 19 years old, wanted to recruit Islamists and other extremists to fight against the secular government under Bashar al-Assad in Damascus and against the soldiers of the Syrian Arab army, of course.

The spokeswoman of the Public Prosecutor’s office in The Hague, Nicolette Stoel, confirmed the arrest of this young Dutch woman by the Netherlands authorities today. According to the official statement by the spokeswoman for the Public Prosecutor’s office in The Hague, Nicolette Stoel, the 19-year-old woman was arrested and already has been remanded for two weeks.

The investigation is currently still underway by the Netherlands authorities on the alleged attempt to recruit extremists in the Netherlands by this young Dutch woman, in order to send these jihadists to Syria so that they join the foreign-backed terrorists in their fight the Syrian army and the secular government in Damascus.

The Spokeswoman for the Public Prosecutor’s office in The Hague, Nicolette Stoel, said further in this official statement that a the investigation has a large scale and that this broad investigation by the Netherlands authorities is being carried out on recruiting young Dutch men by extremists to send them to fight in Syria.

The 19-year-old Dutch woman was arrested by the police in the Zoetermeer, which is located in the east of The Hague.

The Netherlands police arrested the young woman on Wednesday after several families have filed complaints that their relatives already went to Syria in order to fight in the ranks of the armed terrorists or the Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot (Jabhat al-Nusra / al-Nusra Front) against the Syrian Arab army (SAA) and against the government of President Bashar al-Assad in the capital, Damascus.

The young Dutch woman will remain in custody. A judge will then decide whether the case is legitimate or not, which depends on the results of the broad investigation by the Netherlands authorities.

This is not the first time that people abroad, often young misguided persons, try to recruit extremists and jihadists for fighting in Syria against the government of Bashar al-Assad as well as against the units of the Syrian army. Syria, however, was and is a secular state just like its government. Probably the only secular Arab state one is able to find in the Middle East.

However, the best friends of the Western governments are the both totalitarian dictatorships of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, which are both anything but secular.
