We consider Syria a partner and a close friend, and we signed the Belt and Road Memorandum of Understanding and held a meeting of the joint committee. In the next stage, we will continue to implement the instructions of both heads of state to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Ayman Sousan, Deputy Foreign Minister: Since the first days of this aggression, China’s position has been clear in supporting the Syrian state in the face of this terrorist aggression, and it is an embodiment of the deep-rooted historical relations between Syria and China. The two countries have a more than excellent relationship. We exchange support on issues that concern both of us. Syria always supports the principle of One China. It stands in the face of the West’s attempts to politicize the human rights situation in China, just in order to demonize China’s image on the international scene, while they (the West) are violating these rights.
