Russian warship in the Syrian coast

The Sunday Times said “Russia has deployed five landing warships off the Syrian coast in the Mediterranean  Sea, carrying military vehicles and hundreds of marines to confronts any military intervention may triggered by Western states in the Arab country” .
A Russian diplomatic source said that “Russia should prepare for any military escalation and the presence of the Russian warships near the Syrian coast will prevents the foreign military intervention in Syria”.
