Syrian activist: “Foreign support for the terrorists should be stopped”
“The role of Israel and Israel’s backers such as the U.S., Britain, France, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, is very clear in this conflict. We know that this is part of a bigger plan for the so-called Middle East Road Map to divide the Middle East into smaller countries. Those who think this is a revolution are wrong,” said Elaine, who preferred not to disclose her full name since her computer and email accounts were targeted with 14 hacking attempts in the recent weeks.
Elaine took part in an interview with me to discuss her viewpoints regarding the violation of ceasefire by the armed groups in Syria, the Western media’s coverage of the developments in Syria and the possible solutions to end the crisis in the country.
What follows is the text of interview with Syrian peace activist Elaine.
Q: What do you think about the violation of the 3-day ceasefire brokered by UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi by the terrorists and armed groups? What would have happened if it were the Syrian government that violated the ceasefire?
A: Firstly, I would like to say that the ceasefire was doomed to fail only because those who are supporting these terrorists with arms and money don’t want them to stop killing and destroying Syria. These are a few examples of the violations on the first day of the truce.

There would have been a call for a UN Security Council meeting to take further action against the Syrian Government if it had violated the ceasefire.
Q: What do you think about the Western mainstream media’s coverage of the developments in Syria? What’s their approach and attitude in the reports and analysis which they publish about the unrest in Syria?
A: The Western mainstream media are biased in their coverage of the conflict in Syria, especially when it comes to who is killing who in Syria.
Their approach is one-sided as the major western media are owned and operated by a handful of people. For example, the massacre in al-Houla was committed by the armed groups and there were several eyewitness accounts on the Syrians TV detailing the massacre; however, it was the Syrian Government that was blamed for the killing.
Q: It seems that there are certain governments who benefit from the ongoing unrest and violence in Syria. They continue smuggling arms and weapons into Syria and contribute to the destabilization of the crisis-hit country. What’s your take on that?
A: My take on this, it’s no longer a secret that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Britain, France and USA are backing the insurgents in Syria. But my question to these countries is that, these same insurgents that you are supporting will turn on you some day as we saw in some European countries lately and the USA in the past. Let us also don’t forget that most of these countries have economic troubles and really should be using these funds for their own people. Q: What do you think about the possible role of Israel, Al-Qaeda and NATO in the fomentation of unrest in Syria? French journalist Thierry Meyssan has implied that they are furtively cooperating with each other to create discord and strife in the country. What’s your viewpoint?
A: My viewpoint is similar to Mr. Meyssan. Yes; the role of Israel and Israel’s backers such as the U.S., Britain, France, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, is very clear in this conflict. We know that this is part of a bigger plan for the so-called Middle East Road Map to divide the Middle East into smaller countries. Those who think this is a revolution are wrong. It was leaked by WikiLeaks that the U.S. State Department secretly funded the Syrian opposition groups, as reported by the Washington Post. The cables show that the State Department under George Bush funneled more than $6 million since 2006 to a group of Syrian exiles to operate a satellite channel based in London, Barada TV, and fund activities in Syria. Al Qaeda was created and funded by the USA. As for NATO of which Turkey is a member, their role is clearly implementing what is dictated to them by the western powers.
Q: What’s the best solution to end the crisis in Syria? How is it possible to put an end to the conflict in the country? I think, first of all Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France and other Western countries should stop sending arms to Syria. Do you agree?
A: Syria needs to take additional steps to guard its borders with Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Iraq to ensure the stoppage of arms smuggling into Syria. I think for the present time the Emergency Law should be in place until this conflict is halted.
I completely agree with you, but that doesn’t solve the internal problem in Syria when there are Syrian terrorists that were recruited to fight the government. And with all that said, it may take years before stability is restored in Syria.
All of those who are supporting these terrorists with arms, money and advanced communication devices should stop their support.
It was very clear from the beginning that the Syrian Government is committed to stopping the bloodshed in the country, but we must not forget that the terrorists are killing the innocent people for the benefit of other players in the region and will not stop their atrocities.

As to the point that these insurgents will eventually turn on those countries that sponsor them; well, that’s the whole point, because that’s what they want, these people who have nothing to live for but to kill, also wear expensive suits and religious robes.
