lebanese army arrests 11 people including 4 syrians seizes their weapons in arsal

BEIRUT, (SANA)- Units of the Lebanese Army deployed in Arsal area in Bekaa region on Thursday arrested 11 people, including four Syrians, and seized amounts of weapons, ammunition and other equipment they had with them.  The gunmen were arrested in the plains leading to the Lebanese border with Syria.

A statement by the Guidance Department at the Lebanese Army Command, said the arrested people were handed over to the bodies concerned, along with the seized military equipment.  A report by the Lebanese al-Manar TV said the initial security information indicated that the people who were arrested in Arsal were trying to smuggle military rifles, night vision binoculars and grenades into Syria.
