Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi concluded a two days state visit to Syria, during his visit, the Iranian president met Syrian President Bashar Al Assad and signed a host of new memorandums of cooperation.
As some Syrian observers celebrate the visit of the Iranian president to Syria, the first visit in 13 years by an Iranian president the majority of Syrians were wondering what took an Iranian president so long to visit the only real allied country Iran ever had since its revolution in 1979.
During his state visit to Syria, the Iranian President and President Al Assad held bilateral talks, and then both presidents oversaw the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding on different sectors that aim to help the Syrian economy face the enormous pressure exerted on it by the US-led camp of ‘democracy’ and ‘woke’ exporting evildoers, and the lack of proper and sufficient support from two of the world’s oil and gas exporters, Russia and Iran.
The need to strengthen Syria’s military capabilities to defend its borders and skies from repeated Israeli aggression was further discussed, sources say, during the visit. It was discussed multiple times earlier and an agreement was signed by the ministers of defense in Syria and Iran to develop air defense systems aside from depending on the Russian systems being held back by the Russian leadership out of fear that advanced Russian air defense systems might be used by the Syrian Army against Israeli fighter jets bombing Syria!
The Iranian president also took advantage of his trip to Syria to visit Sayyedah Zainab’s shrine, the complex in which the body of the granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him is believed to be buried.
Palestinian factions based in Syria held talks with the visiting Iranian president; the leaders of these factions that met the visiting guest heard positive and supportive talks for their cause.
We are not aware yet whether the talks the Iranian President held with President Bashar Al Assad discussed the rapprochement between Syria and Turkey, both Iran and Russia are working hard to help the embattled Turkish madman Erdogan in the ongoing Turkish presidential election and wanted to secure a summit between the Syrian president and the Turkish madman in which the latter would argue, whether truly or falsely, he agreed with the Syrian president on steps to get rid of the refugees crisis in Turkey he and his criminal policies have caused in the first place.
President Assad had made it crystal clear that there will be no such summit until the Turkish madman Erdogan explicitly commits to withdrawing the Turkish Army and its Al Qaeda terrorist groups from Syria. The Turkish madman Erdogan is not willing to give such a commitment and Syria is being pressured by its allies to accept the occupation of its northern territories by the NATO Turkish army and its al Qaeda proxy terrorist groups!
Important Background
Syria paid a hefty price for being the only Arab country and one of the very rare countries in the world to side with Iran during the 8 years of bloodbath war between Iran and Iraq, the price Syria paid was similar to the current price it’s paying for the past 12 years.
While President Assad praised the strong historical relations between the two countries, Syria and Iran, emphasizing its continuous strength against all odds, Syrian officials and a sizeable part of the Syrian people were expecting more from the country that Syria has literally saved when back in 2008, the Syrian leadership turned down a very sweet offer presented by Qatar on behalf of its masters to extend a Qatari gas pipeline through Syria to Europe which if it went through, it would have easily and swiftly strangled and further isolated the Iranian economy.
In extension, the rejection of the Qatari gas pipeline has also allowed Russia to grasp its breath and build up its forces. Some sources claim that when President Assad shared the offer he received from the Qataris with President Putin of Russia, the latter vowed to support Syria if the US-led evil camp would attack Syria, the promise that took from mid-March 2011 to the end of September 2015 to materialize.
Furthermore, Russia, in 2010 withheld the delivery of its S300 air defense systems bought by Syria indirectly depriving the Syrian state of a much-needed system that was quickly exploited by the USA and its cronies, especially the anti-Jewish Zionist state Israel, the kingdom of the Antichrist.
In the early years of the US-led NATO and terrorist armies war on Syria, both its above-mentioned close allies tried to forge deals with the main actors in the war on Syria, Iran offered Turkey to bypass Syria and open a trade corridor directly through their shared borders only to be rejected by NATO member state Turkey.
Iran later tried to close up to the US-controlled Muslim Brotherhood Egypt during their short reign over Africa’s strongest country, to no avail and only to find itself next on the US destabilization, invasion, and destruction menu.
It took the Iranians until two years to start showing proper support to the Syrian state and that’s when the so-called Syrian opposition the Iranians were trying to appease started attacking and destroying shrines in Syria revered by the Shia sect dominating Iran.
The USA and its camp of evildoers and fake democracies in the West and in Israel showed hypersensitivity over the visit by the Iranian president to Syria as if the visit would add any further substance to the more than 5 decades-relations between Syria and Iran.
Syria is in need of oil to replace the oil being stolen by the US Army and its proxy Kurdish SDF separatist terrorists from northeastern Syria, and it needs proper weapons and military support from its allies, whether this very late visit by the Iranian president to Syria would increase such support to the minimum needed will be seen in the near future.
