Syria’s First Lady Mrs. Asma Al-Assad visited children in the cancer ward of Beroni Hospital, on this first day of blessed Eid Al-Adha. The First Lady visited the children with members of the Basma Association, the Syrian-based organization which helps provide physiological, medical, and financial support to these children and their parents. This work is especially important during this ongoing period of illicit sanctions against the Syrian Arab Republic.

“Basma” is Arabic for “smile,” and First Lady Asma’a Al-Assad brought many smiles to the faces of these children.
Mrs. Asma Al-Assad who recently began her own treatment for cancer, helped to bring smiles to these children, sharing in their daily lives during inpatient care, with their families.

I am so happy to see Light and Life surround Asma Al-Assad and all of the Children in this Treatment Centre in Damascus. The suffering inflicted upon the People of Syria by “the West” is unforgivable but the humanity that shines from so many Syrians even through the darkness and privations of this so very unjust War is a cause for hope in this world. I wish all of God’s Blessings on both Asma Al-Assad and on all of the Children and Staff in the Hospital. With much love from Ireland.
Thank you, Greg.
