The official Syrian news site SANA runs the headline today:
“President al-Sharaa and the German Federal President discuss the expansion of bilateral relations in Berlin”.
That sounds really positive. And every reader can tailor their own ideal scenario from it:
- The HTS fanboy rejoices at the international attention for his hero,
- The FRG government can use propaganda to divert attention from the massive domestic problems it has caused and portray itself as successful.
- The FRG fetishist rejoices at the significant role his non-state plays in great humanitarian reconstruction efforts in war-torn Syria,
- The coldly calculating opportunist looks forward to contracts,
- The FRG-loyal sympathiser of right-wing political parties hopes for the Syrians’ imminent remigration,
- The Rothschild banks are delighted with the hefty profits and commissions from reconstruction funds and loans,
- And even the intellectually unengaged consumer of mainstream media news picks up on some sense of ‘We are important’ amidst the background noise of the system’s broadcast.
So this is a genuine win-win situation, except for the Syrians, of course, who are suffering under the FRG-backed HTS terror. Well, nobody asks them, because this glitzy party isn’t about them.
The current president of the (non-German) occupying organisation, the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), Mr. Steinmeier, is receiving the Al-Qaeda/IS terrorist and self-proclaimed ‘president’ of Syria, the HTS man Al-Jolani, who calls himself ‘al-Sharaa’ (SANA) ever since he has been sitting his backside on the fine furniture of the Damascus Presidential Palace.
It’s a case of birds of a feather flocking together.
In fact, Mr. Steinmeier has gained some experience in successfully supporting terrorism, as you can read in an article, Genocidal but Still ‘Moderate’ – Germany Supports Its ‘Rebels’ for Certain Reason, I wrote in 2016 for Syria News about Steinmeier, then Foreign Minister of the FRG, and his head-chopping cronies. I would humbly suggest you read that article in addition to this one.
Looking on the bright side, we can say: Mr. Steinmeier has remained true to himself all these years. That is quite an achievement in itself.
But HTS-Jolani – pardon me: Al-Sharaa! – also managed to make a success of his visit: after a chat with the Federal President, the state guest proceeded straight on to the Chancellor, with whom he discussed the expansion of further bilateral cooperation, before finalising practical cooperation on economic matters with the Foreign Minister and representatives of German companies.
SANA reports:
”President Ahmad al-Sharaa held a roundtable meeting on Monday with representatives of German companies, attended by the ministers of foreign affairs, economy, energy, and emergency and disaster management.
During the meeting, companies presented proposals across several economic sectors, including energy, finance, security, and digital transformation, as well as construction, healthcare and logistics.
A number of memorandums of understanding were signed between Syrian authorities and German companies during the meeting.”
Isn’t that lovely? After ten years, what truly belongs together has finally come together. Those who destroyed Syria are sitting down with those who made this destruction possible, politically and financially, to negotiate the reconstruction of Syria – a reconstruction that would never have been necessary without them and their war of terror against the Syrian nation. Brilliant!
The FRG and its head-choppers: they like each other, they get on well. After all, they have come a long way together since 2011. Now the ripe apples are to be picked from the tree.
