Russian Military Source: 3 Warships Leave Beirut Port to Syria

MOSCOW, (SANA) – A Russian military source said on Monday that a group of vessels from the Baltic Sea fleet left the Lebanese waters and head to Syria.
The source added that the frigate Yaroslav Mudri in addition to the landing ships of Kaliningrad and Alexander Shabalin have completed their duties and left Beirut port in Lebanon heading to Tartous port in Syria.

Earlier, Commander of the Russian naval Fleet Admiral Viktor Chirkov announced that the Russian Navy will keep 5-6 vessels permanently in the Mediterranean Sea as to protect Russia’s interests in the region.
