Israel bombed the outskirts of Damascus with a barrage of missiles shortly after midnight, 19 July 2023, targeting Syrian Army posts and injuring two Syrian soldiers.
Reports, unconfirmed yet, mentioned explosions at Qudsaya, Jamrayah, Al-Dimas, and Damascus International Airport, including a residential house totally burnt down by the Israeli aggression.
A military spokesperson said in a standard statement conveyed by the Syrian news agency SANA:
“At about twelve o’clock and 25 minutes after midnight, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of the north of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus. Our air defenses intercepted the missiles of aggression and shot down most of them.”
The statement concluded, “The aggression resulted in the injury of two soldiers and some material losses.”

The Israeli bombing, the 2nd this month and the 16th this year already, continues with impunity no thanks to the complete support it receives from its Western sponsors, including the three permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, the USA, France, and the UK, also happen to be member states of the NATO ‘defensive’ alliance.
Coincidentally, the same Western sponsors of Israel are the loudest in their condemnation of the Russian SMO, Special Military Operation to protect the people of the Donbas from the regime of MI6 agent Zelensky, to denazify Ukraine, and to de-militarize the advanced NATO army, the Ukrainian Army.
Israel claims it is targeting weapons deliveries to the Lebanese Hezb Allah resistance party, an old excuse debunked by some of Israel’s own media sympathetic with Israeli opposition to the incumbent junta by asking if they are targeting weapons destined for Hezb Allah in Lebanon, why not attack those shipments within Lebanese territories and avoid a regional war with Syria?
Therefore, the Israeli propaganda changed their narrative to claim they are targeting Iranian military presence in Syria, again a false narrative as Iran does not maintain a military presence in Syria and only Iranian military advisors are embedded within Syrian Army posts to combat ISIS and other NATO-sponsored Al Qaeda-affiliated terrorist groups.
It is self-evident that Israel, and the ‘collective West’ (aka the ‘Garden’) are trying to weaken the Syrian state to prolong the war of terror and war of attrition waged by the US-led camp of members of NATO, the ‘defensive’ alliance, against the Syrian people.
All of Israel’s bombings of Syria are done in coordination with the US military. These aggressions are carried out whenever the terrorists of Al Qaeda and its ISIS offshoot are being hammered by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies or whenever they need a boost to their defeated ‘morale’.
