Iran stressed its support for Syria in case the US-led war on Damascus happens.
Another day, another remark by Iran on Syria and the probably imminent US-led military strike on Damascus. However, in recent days, the rhetoric by Iranian officials has an increased focus on the reaction by Tehran in case the Obama administration in Washington really launches its planned attacks on the Syrian nation. The so-called retaliatory measures and responses to a military attack on Syria by foreign forces became more concrete.
The new statements were made by the known Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi. Alaeddin Boroujerdi has already made several statements about the US war plans against Syria in the last days and has recently also talked about the possible consequences of such a US-led war on Damascus for the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv and the entire Middle Eastern region.
In his new remarks, the Chairman at the Iranian Shura Council for the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee in Tehran, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, underlined that his country will not just observe a possible US-led war on Damascus. He stated that Tehran will not stand idly by against a possible illegal and illogical military strike on Syria by foreign powers.
The Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, made these new remarks about the increased rhetoric of war by Washington against Damascus and the current possibility of a foreign military intervention in Syria to the al-Alam news channel on Monday.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi said further that Iran supports its allies in the Middle East and that the response by Tehran to a US-led attack on an ally in the region will be “by the military personnel” of Iran. Thus, one of the important officials from Iran has in principle confirmed by his new statement that Iran will carry out retaliatory measures and also defend Syria against a US-led attack.
This also means that Iran will probably launch a retaliatory measure against the regime in Tel Aviv – some even stated that Saudi Arabia is under an increased threat of the possible retaliatory measures by the allies of Syria and the resistance movements against the Zionist regime in the region. Not to mention that there were some reports (although we doubt them) that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has (allegedly) stated that Russia will attack the totalitarian dictatorship of Saudi Arabia in case Washington launches its war on Syria.
The Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee from Iran also said in his statements to the Arab news channel that the people in Syria are aware of the situation that the aggression by the United States against their country contradicts the international law and that the Syrian people “are watching the crimes perpetrated by the West-U.S.-backed Takfiri extremists, which makes them stand by the side of their government.”
The high-ranking member of the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, also said in his new remarks that “Syria expects a US aggression” and that the Iranian belief after the talks with senior officials from Syria would be that Syria is very serious in terms of their response to any potential aggression by foreign forces.
For Boroujerdi, and thus, for Tehran, such a stance by the Syrian officials and government of President Bashar al-Assad is “normal because the element that they face is the Zionist Entity, so the consequent events are unpredictable due to a possible intervention by Syria’s friends.”
The Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council also underlined in his new remarks to the Arab news channel that the Russian administration in Moscow will not allow the repetition of former mistakes and that it is already certain, that Moscow’s reaction to a possible US-led military intervention in Syria “will be different from its response regarding the intervention in Libya.”
The Iranian official further stressed that the Russian navy is at a military position to defend the interests of Moscow in the Middle East and therefore, any aggression by military force of the United States against Syria would “leave unpredictable consequences.”
The higher-ranking official in Tehran further said in his interview that the Syrian military is strong and that Syria is in general a “strong military county” and in possess of “advanced missiles and a sophisticated air defence system.” Therefore, according to the Iranian official and lawmaker, the response by Syria “is not going to be ordinary” or comparable with the weak response by Iraq or Libya.
“Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has warned that Washington should “expect everything” if US forces attack his country.”
