Armenian Sappers Clear Syrian Village of Mines Planted by Terrorists

Armenian sappers clearing Syrian village of mines distributing medical aid

Armenian sappers of the Armenian Humanitarian Mission to Syria completed demining the area of al Burj in Aleppo’s southwestern countryside to enable the return of its people to their homes and farmlands.

The Armenian sappers cleared more than 10 hectares of land in and around the village of al Burj in the Khanaser area of landmines and explosive devices planted in large quantities by the NATO-sponsored US-led terrorists of Al Qaeda and its offshoots and derivatives in this region.

In addition to the much-appreciated efforts in helping the Syrian state clear the liberated areas from killing tools planted by the western proxy so-called moderate rebels, the Armenian Humanitarian Mission provided medical and humanitarian services to more than 47 thousand locals.

With the cooperation of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, the Armenian sappers have been actively helping the Syrian Arab Army’s Engineering Corps clear several areas of mines in Syria, mainly in Aleppo countryside.

Arkady Tonoyan heading the Armenian Humanitarian Mission to Syria emphasized how his mission’s aid provided to the Syrian people is a “translation and embodiment of the brotherly relations between the two friendly countries, Syria and Armenia.”

Worth noting that prior to the US-led war of terror and war of attrition waged against the Syrian people, there was a sizeable Armenian community in the country whose ancestors fled the Ottoman genocide against them and were welcomed, hosted, and protected by the Syrian people who were also facing the Ottoman occupation. They have since formed an essential part of the beautiful mosaic of the Syrian community.

Many of the Armenians, like their other Syrian brethren, have sadly left Syria for Armenia and other countries due to the systematic targeting of them by the moderate rebels of Al Qaeda and ISIS (ISIL – Daesh) under the guidance of the neo-Ottomans, the regime of the Turkish madman Erdogan, the anti-Islamic Muslim Brotherhood hypocrite.
