US Submarine Surrounded by Iranian Navy and Forced to Flee Drill’s Site

Iran navy drill in Gulf of Oman - IRGC

A US reconnaissance submarine tried to spy on naval drills carried out by the Iranian Navy found itself surrounded by Iranian boats and was forced to flee the site.

Last Thursday, 14 January 2021, the Iranian media stated that a submarine approached the site of Iranian navy drills in the Gulf of Oman and the coast of Konarak in the southeast of Iran and was forced to retreat.

The Iranian Army’s Commodore, Hamzah Ali Kawiani, revealed that the submarine that tried to approach the area of the maneuvers on Thursday was an American, the Commodore added that the Iranian boats and submarines surrounded the American submarine completely, issued strong warnings to the submarine crew forcing them to move away from the site of operation.

The Iranian naval force conducted two-day maneuvers under the title ‘Iqtidar 99’ over a wide area that extended from the Iranian coast of Makran to the Gulf of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean.

During the Iranian drill a number of ballistic missiles were launched, some with a range of 1,800 kilometers into the Indian Ocean, the Iranian officials stated that the missiles have hit their targets with precision and that its range can reach 2000 kilometers (approx. 1243 miles).

Iran also revealed during the drills its largest navy ship ‘Makaran’ weighing 121,000 tonnes as part of its project to establish a naval base in the northern Indian Ocean.

The commander of the Aerospace Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, confirmed that the Iranian forces are capable of striking all American bases in the region and destroying them within a single moment. He said that “despite the Americans possessing power, the Revolutionary Guards learned how to fight them and could strike them, destroy their defenses, and deal a heavy blow to them, by launching 500 missiles at the same time that could not compensate for their loss.”

Pentagon officials and their mainstream media parrots used to mock Iranian threats until Iran shot down the US most advanced and most expensive RQ-4A Global Hawk BAMS-D surveillance drone in June 2019 and later destroying the US forces barracks within the Ain Asad airbase in western Iraq with precision missiles on 8 January 2020 as part of avenging the US war crime of killing Iran’s most revered top General Qasim Soleimani in Baghdad a week earlier. After these two incidents, the Pentagon officials and their propagandists got smarter a little and stopped making fun of the Iranian threats.

Hopefully there are still some smart people in the Pentagon who would not allow a new war crime by their troops or their allies and they’ll start focusing on establishing a democracy in their country first.

The display of force is always a good deterrent against the enemy plotting, usually in military exercises they don’t show all capabilities, only the needed ones, I expect Iran has much more under their sleeves, the Yankees and their agents better be careful and not miscalculate.
