Martin Nesirky, spokesperson for UN secretary general, said that the United Nations (UN) and the officials of UNESCO are shocked about the damages to all the World Heritage sites in Syria after they viewed several images of the destruction of some cultural heritage sites in Syria and it is to mention that this destruction of World Heritage sites would not have taken place when the United Nations (UN) would have cared earlier about it and would have tried to stopped the support by foreign powers for the terrorists and Al Qaeda-linked groups in Syria from the beginning of the conflict and the foreign-waged proxy war and terrorism.

At least, the head of the United Nations (UN) cultural agency, Irina Bokova, has finally expressed a “deep shock” about the destruction of World Heritage sites in Syria after she viewed several images of the destructions of the cultural heritage.

According to the spokesperson for the UN secretary general, the Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Irina Bokova, said yesterday in terms of the destruction of the World Heritage Sites in Syria:

“Irina Bokova, the Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), said she was deeply shocked at news of further destruction of cultural heritage in Syria, particularly reports of damage to the Crac des Chevaliers, a World Heritage site.”

In addition, the Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) also demanded an end to the damage to the World Heritage sites in Syria and called upon the perpetrators to immediately stop their the destruction of all the cultural heritage sites in the Arab nation. Irina Bokova also said, according to the spokesperson for the UN secretary general, Nesirky, that all sides of the Syrian conflict have to take the necessary measures in order to ensure the safeguarding of all the World Heritage sites in Syria and all the cultural properties in this Arab nation.

The Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), also made a reference to the so-called “Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict” from 1954 and demanded from all involved parties in the conflict and proxy war in Syria to avoid the destruction of the cultural property in the Arab nation.

The famous Crac des Chevaliers is among six sites in Syria recently inscribed to the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger and this is sadly true. The Crac des Chevaliers is already damaged as well as the famous Citadel of the Syrian city of Aleppo and other cultural property in Syria. The foreign-backed terrorists and especially the Takfiri militants and Al Qaeda-linked groups have an innate aversion to education and culture.

Of course, also the fight against the terrorism by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the acts of terrorism and bomb attacks, carried out by the foreign-backed terrorists and gunmen, caused already a lot of damages to the cultural heritage in Syria.

After over two years, the officials of UNESCO finally care about the destruction of history and cultural property in Syria? Wow. If they would not have supported or kept silent about the proxy war, imperialism and terrorism in and against Syria, then the story would be different and many of the cultural heritage sites would not have been damaged.

Unfortunately a high point provides an observation point for an opposing armed force, and are subject to destruction as a practical tactical matter. Send the repair bill to Obama; this whole mess was his doing.
