UN Studies the Possibilities of Sending Peacekeepers to Syria

February 7, 2013  2:30 PM

UN peace-keeping chief Hervé Ladsous has announced about studying the possibilities of sending a delegation to deploy the stability in Syria in the future.

Ladsos said in Media conference hold in New York that “The current situation in Syria does not permit to deploy a delegation for peacekeeping”, adding that “The security factor will be for, of course, the main key because the level of the violence is very high, but we study the Scenario that may invite us to help for deploying the peace forces in the country and to support the political operation, and to do what is possible to provide the safe feeling for some groups that feel threatened”.
