syrian president bashar assad baath leaders mistakes

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad

The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad gave a new interview that was published by the Al-Baath newspaper on Thursday. The topic of the interview with the Syrian President al-Assad was the removal of several leaders of the Baath party this week.

Overall, 16 leaders of the Syrian Baath party were removed in a reshuffle this week because these persons made several mistakes while their time in office. This is also what the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad confirmed in his latest interview with the Al-Baath newspaper in Syria.

The 16 new leaders of the Baath party include nobody of the former chiefs of the Baath party with the exception of the Syrian President al-Assad who remains the secretary general of the Syrian Baath party.

The interview with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was published two days after the Syrian Baath party announced the names of these new 16 heads of the party. President Assad said in this interview with the Al-Baath newspaper, for example, that in the case, when “a leader does not solve a series of mistakes, this leader must be held accountable”. Sadly, there were no detailed information about the mistakes of the former heads of the party that were now replaced by new names.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad further said that the real role of the central committee of the Syrian Baath party would be to hold the leaders accountable on a regular basis and he confirmed that this did not happen in the last years in Syria.

According to the statements and opinion of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, such a central committee should monitor and observe the work of the leadership and also evaluate this work. In addition, such a central committee should also hold the leaders accountable.

Syrian President al-Assad also spoke about the current war against the foreign-backed terrorists in the country and said, for example:

“Those defending the nation now are the workers and farmers… some of them are in the army, others defending their land.

The struggle now is between those who are ignorant and those who are aware, between the patriots and the collaborators, between extremists and moderates.” (President al-Assad)

This was the first reshuffle of the Syrian Baath party since the year 2005. Also the Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa was removed by this reshuffle of the heads of the Syrian party.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also mentioned the Muslim Brotherhood in this new interview with the Al-Baath newspaper. While the Syrian President spoke in nice words about the Lebanese resistant movement Hezbollah and the neighbouring country Iran, he has again criticized the Muslim Brotherhood.

In terms of the Muslim Brotherhood, Syrian President al-Assad said the correct statement in the interview that the Brotherhood takes advantage of religion and uses this as a mask and if somebody does not agree with the Muslim Brotherhood politically, that means for the Brotherhood that they do not stand by God and this is definitely not the case with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran.

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah “does not judge people based on sects or religions, but rather on politics and patriotism and the stances of the people”. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also said that everybody has to “distinguish between those who use religion for the benefit of a few, and those who use religion to defend causes that are just and right.”
