Syria: President al-Assad meets with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

The Syrian Ambassador to Russia, Riyad Haddad, has confirmed in a new announcement that the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov travels to Syria today. In Damascus, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister will meet with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for talks.

It is easy to assume that the Syrian President al-Assad and the Russian Minister will talk about the conflict and crisis in Syria, but also about the UN report, the upcoming resolution of the UN Security Council (UNSC), and the machinations by certain Western and Arab states in terms of the Syrian conflict and the support for the armed terrorist groups with weapons and money.

While the Syrian citizens in the capital Damascus have again conducted a protest in support of their government and President Bashar al-Assad, the units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) were able to make some progress in the battles in several regions of the country.

For example, units of the Syrian Army were able to destroy several Turkish cars. The cars were loaded weapons and ammunition. According to the information and reports, units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have raided several Turkish cars carrying arms and ammunitions. The cars were loaded in Turkey with the weapons and ammunitions in order to deliver the weapons and stuff into the hands of the foreign-backed terrorist groups in Syria.

This underlines the problem with the holey border of Syria to Turkey. The Turkish-Syrian border is still not secured and the terrorists as well as such Turkish cares with weapons and other kind of “military aid” are still able to pass the border into Syria. As long as the Turkish government supports the terrorist groups and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists and as long as this border is holey and not secured, the problems will continue and the supporters of the terrorist groups have an easy way to supply weapons and other military aid into the hands of the terrorist forces on Syrian soil.

Of course, the border between Syria and Turkey is very long and also hard to secure due to the conditions along the Turkish-Syrian border. But after two years, it is certainly to expect that the Syrian-Turkish border would already be more secure. However, the border is still holey as cheese from Switzerland and as long as Turkey benefits from such a holey border to Syria and sends weapons and terrorists into Syria, it seems almost impossible to fill these holes of the border and to end the deliveries of human resources and weapons into Syria.

But to be honest, the holey border of Syria to Turkey also underlines the validity of the criticism against the Syrian Arab Army and the government in Damascus and the claims about several present problems within the Syrian Army and the government of President al-Assad.

But back to the destroyed Turkish arms supplies for the terrorist groups. The Turkish cars with the weapons and ammunitions were destroyed by the units of the Syrian Army in the countryside of the Syrian city of Aleppo (Halab), which is located in northern Syria. While the most news report about the clashes in the countryside of Damascus, for example, in Duma, Jobar, and Maaloula, as well as about the progress of the units of the Syrian Army in all areas of the Arab country, it is sadly a fact that the intense problems within the strategically important city of Aleppo (Halab) are still present. Not much has changed recently in Aleppo for the better.

However, at least, the military operations by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continue in the countryside of Aleppo and the army was able to destroy some Turkish cars with weapons and ammunitions. The Turkish cars were destroyed by the Syrian Army on the al-Raqqah-Aleppo road in the districts of Oroum al-Soqra, al-Wazih, and al-Atareb, in the countryside of the famous Syrian city (Rif Halab).

The operative units of the Syrian Army in these districts in the countryside of Aleppo, but also in the regions of Abtin, Khan al-Assal, Sheikh Saeid, and Bayanon, were further able to eliminate and injure tens of armed terrorists in several military operations.

Further operations by the Syrian Army units were carried out around the central prison of Syria’s Aleppo and the al-Kondi Hospital. However, while some have hoped that the situation around Aleppo’s central prison and the al-Kondi hospital would already be better and safer, this is sadly not the situation. There are still several armed terrorist groups and sometimes an insufficient number of Syrian soldiers; and “sometimes” is quite relative in this context.
