Syrian Army: Military Operations in al-Matahin, Damascus countryside

Syrian army gains more ground in countryside of Damascus.

The units of the Syrian army have again carried out several military operations in some regions of the Arab nation yesterday. For example, the units of the Syrian forces were able to carry out a successful targeted military operations in one of the suburbs of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

After a very intense battle against a group of well-armed terrorists near the International Airport of Damascus, the Syrian soldiers were able to regain the control of the area of al-Matahin. The Syrian units have inflicted huge losses on the side of the foreign-backed terrorists in this area near the Syrian capital yesterday.

The battles against the terrorist groups in al-Matahin and nearby areas (countryside of Damascus) were really intense yesterday, however, the results were heavy losses on the side of the terrorist groups.

According to the information by the Syrian army for Mohamad Ali, correspondent of Press TV, a group of foreign-supported terrorists have attacked the (al-Ghizlania) mill and they stole whatever they were able to carry with them. The correspondent of Press TV, Mohamad Ali, was on site in al-Matahin near the International Airport of the Syrian capital Damascus yesterday.

Mohamad Ali carried out an interview with a Syrian army official. The Syrian army official explained about the events in al-Matahin yesterday that the foreign-backed terrorists tried to steal everything from the (al-Ghizlania) mill in al-Matahin.

However, this unit of the Syrian army official came to the area and encircled the terrorist groups. Afterwards, the unit of the Syrian Arab army (SAA) has moved forward into the targeted area near the International Airport of Damascus from three surrounding areas. After “ferocious clashes”, the unit of the Syrian army has successfully killed the armed terrorists in the area of the Syrian town of al-Matahin.

Already in July, a group of armed terrorists attacked the al-Ghizlania mill in the al-Matahin area. In this attack on the al-Ghizlania mill in the area of the town of al-Matahin, the armed terrorists have killed all Syrian civilians in the mill and stole large amounts of flour and grain. Afterwards, the foreign-backed terrorists tried to use the al-Ghizlania mill in al-Matahin, near the capital Damascus, as a base for their attacks against the units of the Syrian army in the area.

Another official of the Syrian Arab army (SAA) told the Press TV correspondent Mohamad Ali that more than five hundred terrorists have attacked the mill in al-Matahin and that his unit of the Syrian army was able to inflict heavy losses on the attackers, while the Syrian soldiers tried to not harm the structure of the mill.

According to the information by the Syrian army official, the foreign-supported terrorists used advanced rockets and sadly destroyed some parts of the mill in al-Matahin, near the International Airport of the capital. Among the killed terrorists were two Jordanian fighters and a jihadist fighter from Saudi Arabia.

The foreign-backed terrorists have also sabotaged many parts of the machinery inside the mill and the fire was still breaking out in parts of the mill in in al-Ghizlania when the team of the Press TV correspondent Mohamad Ali arrived in the area because of the intense battle.

The town of al-Ghizlania is from a strategic importance because it connects the Eastern al-Ghouta with the already secured areas under the control of Syrian army units, including the International Airport of the capital, Damascus. By the regaining of the control over the area of al-Matahin, the Syrian Arab army (SAA) has blocked the foreign-backed terrorists from infiltrating and attacking other areas that are closer to the Damascus International Airport and its highway.

According to the statements of Syrian army officials, the military operations against the armed terrorist groups will continue until all terrorists are eliminated and all the areas surrounding the International Airport of the capital Damascus are secured and free of rats.
