Syria: Russia foiled American War Plans Against Damascus

Pepe Escobar: Enemies of Syria won’t give up war plans.

There are some new events and statements around the Syrian conflict, the chemical weapons, and the situation of U.S. President Barack Obama in regards of his recently shown weakness, which could backfire for him. It actually seems that Obama himself has confirmed the speculations that he knows about his desperate situation after his shown weakness.

U.S. President Barack Obama said in new statements that there is a possibility for new dialogues with the Iranian administration and that the opportunity for a dialog with the Islamic Republic of Iran under the presidency of Hassan Rouhani has increased. Obama also confirmed in his new statements that the U.S. administration is ready to test this opportunity and to start a dialogue with the Iranian administration in Tehran.

According to the statements by U.S. President Obama, there are several indications that the new President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, is a person who is open for a dialogue with the West and with the United States, in contrast to the former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Obama pointed out that the U.S. administration has not seen such an openness for dialog by Iran in the past and therefore, they “should test it.”

However, as mentioned, the statements by Barack Obama confirm in principle the speculations about his current situation and the upcoming tasks for him to correct his image and to show others that their current awareness of Obama as a weak president of the United States is wrong. But this will be an intense task for Barack Obama. Not to mention the ongoing pressure by the Israel Lobby, by the regime in Tel Aviv, and also by Saudi Arabia in regards of Syria as well as Iran.

In the meantime, the journalist Pepe Escobar, who works with the newspaper “Asia Times Online”, based in Hong Kong, said in new statements that the enemies of Syria will not stop their pushing for a war against Damascus. Pepe Escobar, who is a known investigative journalist and political analyst, also warned in his recent statements that the CIA-trained thugs and mercenaries have already entered into the country.

Escobar also correctly pointed out that the governments of France, Britain, and the United States want a “Syria resolution” of the UN Security Council (UNSC) that includes a reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter. This reference to the Chapter 7 of the famous UN Charter would allow the use of military force against Syria in order “to restore international peace.” According to the well-founded statements by Pepe Escobar, a resolution based on the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter has the “inbuilt possibility of launching a war against Syria in case of noncompliance” with the Russian-American deal about the chemical weapons stockpiles on Syrian soil and the joining of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) by the Syrian government.

Pepe Escobar also pointed out that Washington, Paris, and London have not yet really specified “what kind of noncompliance would that be.” And this is certainly a dangerous situation for Syria in the case that there will be a resolution of the UNSC (UN Security Council) that includes a reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter. However, Russia strictly rejects such a resolution that refers to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.

The investigative journalist and known political commentator Pepe Escobar also said in his new interview with Press TV that the governments of the United States, Britain, and France want “in fact (…) an Iraqi-style Chapter 7 inbuilt possibility of an attack resolution” and predicted that such a resolution will not pass the UN Security Council because China and Russia will veto any resolution that includes a reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter. This is, so Escobar, a fact. Of course, Washington and the other supporters of such a resolution that includes a military option against Syria know about this fact, too. According to Escobar, it will probably turn out as a two-step resolution on Syria by the UN Security Council due to the situation of the different aims of the key members in regards of Syria.

Escobar added in his interview with Press TV that the “only possibility to have a resolution now is to have a non-binding resolution.” And that there could be another false-flag later – for example, the attack of UN inspectors by terrorists in Syria – that would then trigger another, second resolution of the UN Security Council.

The journalist and political analyst Pepe Escobar also added that Special Forces from Qatar and Israel are already on the ground in Syria and that the totalitarian dictatorship of Saudi Arabia as well as Turkey provide logistical support to the foreign-backed terrorist groups on Syrian soil. Pepe Escobar said in his interview with Press TV:

“The people who are being trained in Jordan by the CIA, they already crossed the border, they are already near Damascus and the so-called non-lethal weaponizing, according to the Obama administration, it has already started.”

“So, the weapons are flowing and the rebels are being reconstituted all over, from the Jordanian-Syrian border to the Turkish-Syrian border and to the outskirts of Damascus as well. These people who want war, they won’t give up. It is simple as that.”

Also another political analyst spoke about the war plans against Syria and the recent developments in and around the Arab country.  Sukant Chandan, a political analyst from London, said in his new interview that the measures by Russia in regards of the Syrian conflict have indeed foiled the plans of a US-led military intervention into Syria.

Chandan pointed out that Russia and China have “sabotaged the rolling war machines plans” by the United States against Syria due to their support for the Syrian government of President al-Assad in Damascus.

The political analyst from London, Sukant Chandan, added in his interview with Press TV that the role of Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the President Vladimir Putin was very important to prevent a escalation in the Middle East and to avoid a US-led war on Syria. According to Chandan, both Russian officials have “played this with great finesse and panache and with great swagger as well.” And this is certainly true.
