By the way, Vasili “Vasya” Pavlov is a Russian blogger and like the most others, a volunteer in the team of ANNA-News.
Of course, by pure coincidence, he is also a former tank solder, so that he is able to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of a T-72 (Soviet second-generation main battle tank) in the urban warfare with the Syrian colleagues.
And yet a mere coincidence:
Yesterday, one was able to read in the (Russian) news that the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation ordered a “Tank Urban Special Kit” for the Russian T-72 and T-90 tanks, which should make these tanks more suitable for the use in urban areas.
Modifications such as improved base armour and protection guards as those that were made by the Syrians (see above) themselves in Daraya. By this, such a colossus should be able to withstand big explosives and these tanks should then be also able to ward the hits by RPG-7 and RPG-29.
Oh, and they also get an excavator shovel..
