Syria Presses to Compel Israel to Join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

Syria continues to press the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) members to force Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and abide by its rules, especially taking into consideration the aggressive nature of the Zionist state highlighting the world’s grave concern over Israel’s nuclear capabilities.

“The resolution of the General Conference at the 53rd session entitled ‘Israeli Nuclear Capabilities’ clearly expressed the concern of the international community about the threat posed by the proliferation of nuclear weapons to security and stability in the Middle East region,” Syria’s representative to the UN organizations said in a statement.

Dr. Hassan Khaddour, Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Vienna added: “The (IAEA General Conference) statement sent a clear message of grave concern over Israel’s nuclear capabilities and demanded that Israel accede to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and place all its nuclear facilities under comprehensive IAEA safeguards.”

Israel bombed an empty building in the countryside of Deir Ezzor in 2007 claiming it was a nuclear plant under construction, the self-proclaimed ‘international community’ praised the Israeli aggression instead of condemning it, which itself shows a clear sign of bias practiced by the hypocrite 14% of the world’s population who happen to share a history of genocide and crimes against humanity being the past colonial powers, the same powers that invented Israel as a continuation for their colonialism in West Asia.

Israel managed to order its subject politicians in the western world to impose decades-long sanctions against Iran over an alleged military nuclear program the Islamic Republic has and imposed some of the harshest inspection measures only to prove the non-existence of such a military nuclear program.

Even after the former US junta of Nobel Peace Laureate Barack Obama, who started waves of wars against humanity mainly in the Arab and Islamic worlds, signed an international treaty to close the western countries’ file for political and economic pressuring tools against Iran, the JCPOA in 2015, the Obama junta never abided itself to the treaty it signed and exerted enormous pressure on international parties not to conduct any businesses with Iran under pressure from Israel.

Another subject of Israel ruling the USA, Trump, torpedoed the JCPOA to appease his close friend the Israeli former prime minister and war criminal Netanyahu, the incompetent US president who failed to rule during his four years term went as far as imposing what his regime described as the ‘maximum pressure’ against Iran through sanctions and pirating Iranian ships, the assassination of Iranian scientists, sabotaging and hacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, and assassinating the most revered Iranian Army officer, General Qasim Soleimani.

All for Israel, not that Trump’s successor Biden who vowed to return to the JCPOA which was signed during his term as US Vice President under Obama, has so far failed to return to the international treaty, he is literally serving Israel against its adversaries in the region, namely Syria and Iran by imposing more sanctions on the two countries and continuing what the world knows the US’s usual destructive businesses against sovereign countries.

Looking at Israel’s efforts against the peoples of the region in regard to nuclear proliferation, one would think that the Israelis are concerned about the safety of humanity except that they themselves, with the complete political and military cover from their sponsors in the collective west and much of the collective east, refuse to join the same Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty they’re pushing others to implement its articles on non-existence programs!

Many observers believe that Israel does have a military nuclear program, it does have in its possession an undeclared number of nuclear warheads, and it does openly operate a number of nuclear plants that are not under any international supervision.

In his aforementioned statement, the Syrian Representative Khaddour called for ‘intensive international action to take practical deterrent measures that would lead to Israel’s accession to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and to enable the establishment of a zone free of nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, in light of the commitment of all countries in the region to achieving this goal,’ a call falling on the deaf ears of the representatives of the western countries who believe themselves as entitled to dictate the world’s policies to their likings.
