Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad dismissed accusations about chemical weapons use.

The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has rejected the accusations by Washington, Paris and some other Western governments that the government in Damascus has allowed the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) against the foreign-backed terrorists and Syrian civilians in the battles in the Syrian conflict.

The President of Syria, al-Assad, has dismissed the claims by the US administration in Washington that the Syrian government would allow the use of chemical weapons (poison gas / e.g. Sarin nerve agent) against the own people in a recent statement by him. After other officials from Syria, including Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), Bashar al-Jaafari, the Syrian President is the next person who rejected these allegations by some Western governments.

The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is still in Damascus despite the recent rumours by Israeli media that he would have left his country towards Iran, made some new remarks in an interview that has been published by the French newspaper Le Figaro yesterday. Bashar al-Assad not only rejected the allegations by Washington and Paris, including the Prime Minister David Cameron from Britain and the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv, that his government would have used chemical weapons against Syrian civilians, but also said that everyone who brings charges has to submit a proof for such claims.

Syria’s President Assad further said that the US President Barack Obama and the French counterpart, Francois Hollande, have failed to submit convincing evidence for their claims against the Syrian government in Damascus in regards of the chemical weapons use near the capital some days ago.

Syrian President al-Assad said in this new interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, published on Monday:

“Everyone who brings charges must submit proof. … Mr. [Barack] Obama and Mr. [Francois] Hollande have failed to do that, including in the face of their nations.” (Bashar al-Assad)

The President of Syria further stated that it would be very illogical if his government and the Syrian Army would have used weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in an area where the own Syrian soldiers were affected, as the experts of the United Nations (UN) established during a visit to a hospital where the Syrian soldiers are treated.”

Also, the Syrian government in Damascus has consistently denied the allegations by the US administration in Washington that it has allowed the use of chemical weapons (poison gas) against Syrian civilians and also in terms of the collocation of the Syrian Army, which consists of all parts of the Syrian society, it would be very illogical when the Syrian soldiers would obey orders to use chemical weapons against Syrian civilians.

Not to mention that several videos show that the Syrian soldiers in these suburbs of Damascus on August 21 / 22 did not carry gas masks and no one would certainly use chemical weapons onto a near location when he is himself not wearing a gas mask. Further, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently called the accusations by Washington against the Syrian governance in Damascus an “utter nonsense” while the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged the US administration in Washington to show convincing evidence for their accusations against the government in Damascus and also stated that there is so far no evidence for such claims.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov also said that a government such as the US administration in Washington has to share intelligence information when a situation has reached the serious question of a possible military strike on a sovereign country.

However, the French intelligence service has imitated the US counterpart meanwhile and published several documents that shall prove the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government and Syria’s army against the own population and that the Syrian army staged several incidents of the use of chemical weapons. But in terms of France, such a move was to expect.
