A Russian helicopter has crash-landed in the Hasakah countryside during a routine patrol over the M4 Highway, Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the incident.
Initial reports spoke of casualties among the helicopter crew, some local sources said 3 of its crew were injured but these reports were not confirmed by official sources.
The Russian helicopter, a Mi-35, suffered a malfunction while carrying out a patrol between the villages Rayhanieh and Qassimieh to the west of Tal Tamr in the northwestern countryside of Hasakah province, and its crew were evacuated immediately to the nearby airport and they are safe.
There are no signs the helicopter was under attack, no traces of bullets or any other projectiles on its body as per Russian sources in the region.
Russian military police carry out routine patrols over the M4 and M5, Syria’s main arteries connecting its major cities especially in the northern regions, the patrols were agreed upon by NATO and Al Qaeda represented by the Turkish Madman Erdogan on one hand and the Russian leadership on the other. Kurdish separatist terrorists of the SDF armed groups are also supposed to abide by the agreements signed in Moscow early Mach last year, the situation on the ground seems tense and Russian observers needed to reduce the numbers of their checkpoints in the region after the latest skirmishes between NATO’s two proxies: Turkey and Al Qaeda against the Kurdish separatists.
