Rukban Camp to be Dismantled, Nassib Crossing Opening Undecided, Again

Rukban refugees camp at Al-Tanf on the borders between Syria and Jordan to be dismantled, the refugees there will join the reconciliation process.

Elders from the refugee camp reached an agreement with the Syrian Arab Army has been achieved, Russia and Jordan seriously considering the dismantling the camp, according to Lebanese Al-Mayadeen news outlet.

As per Al-Mayadeen reporter 150 sick cases will be treated at hospitals in Damascus and nearby, statuses of young men due for conscript in military service in the SAA of sick cases will be settled.

Rukban refugees camp is currently run by a civil council of elders and tribal heads.

Jordanian minister of foreign affairs confirmed his country and Russia are seriously considering the dismantling of the Rukban camp and the safe return of the Syrian refugees.

The Jordanian minister has refuted any confirmed date for the reopening of the border crossings with Syria claiming there are ongoing technical negotiations discussing it. Previously, a Syrian official source stated the Nassib Bordering Crossing will be reopened on 10th of October, Jordanians got some new instructions from somewhere, it seems.
