Quds Day 2013: Protests in Support of Palestinian resistance.

The so-called Quds Day, which is known in Iran as the International Quds Day, is a typical annual event, which has been celebrated for the first time in Iran in 1979.

The Quds Day is usually celebrated on the last Friday of Ramadan and shall express the support with the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime as well as the resistance of the Palestinians against the control of the Israeli regime above Jerusalem, while “Quds” is the Arabic name for the famous city in the Middle East and thus, the name of the annual event is self-explaining.

The first Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Yazdi, had initially suggested rallies in support of the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist oppression.

The “Quds Day rallies” were then introduced in Iran for the first time in Iran by the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979, while the Iranian government has then begun to financially support and organize the rallies of the afterwards annual celebrated Quds Day.

In August 1979, the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in the Islamic Republic of Iran has declared the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month Ramadan as the International Quds Day.

The peaceful protest against the Zionist oppression of Palestine and the celebration of the resistance by the Palestinian people has then slowly but continuously spread over the globe and thus, the International Quds Day is now celebrated in more countries than just in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yesterday, millions of people worldwide have again held demonstrations to celebrate and mark the International Quds Day and to demonstrate their support for the resistance of Palestine and its people against the oppressions by the Israeli regime.

On the last day of this year’s Ramadan, several huge rallies have again taken place in different countries around the globe with many interesting speeches and events around the International Quds Day.

In addition, the protests around the globe have called again for the liberation of Palestine and for a real international support for the Palestinian people and not just the known hypocritically “staging” by the so-called international community of values.

A lot of Muslims but also supports of Palestine with other confessions in more than 80 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Australia, and other regions have attended the International Quds Day demonstrations to show their support for Palestine and for the resistance against Zionism and the oppression of Palestinians by the Israeli regime.

The protesters in Iran, Australia, Pakistan, India, and all other countries demanded the liberation of Palestine and justice for the Palestinian people.
