EU warns Israeli regime about new settlement plans.

It’s no real warning, of course.

The European Union (EU) said in a new statement that the decision of the Israeli regime to approve the construction of further settlement units in the occupied territories of Palestine was illegal and that the construction of about 1,200 settlement units in the still occupied Palestinian territories is a violation of international law.

However, the officials and representatives of the so-called European Union (EU) blabber a lot in terms of their condemnation of the illegal settlements by the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv in the occupied territories of Palestine since years, and that these settlement constructions are violating international law is clear as the summer sky above Damascus.

This next so-called “warning”, although it is more an attempt to stage some sedulous care for Palestine and the Palestinians who are living in those occupied areas, was stated by Michael Mann on Monday. Michael Mann is the spokesman for the Foreign Affairs chief of the European Union (EU), the prejudiced Catherine Ashton, who is just a tool for the foreign policy of several states. Some would go so far to name her a propaganda slave for U.S. interests.

The spokesman of Catherine Ashton, Michael Mann, said yesterday in terms of the new approval of further settlement units of the Israeli regime in the still occupied territories of Palestine that these Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are illegal under international law and that these settlements of the Tel Aviv government “threaten to make a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict impossible.”

The spokesman of Catherine Ashton further stated that the European Union (EU) calls on all sides “to refrain from actions that undermine the negotiation process” and that all parties should also refrain from actions which could undermine the prospects of peace in the region. However, as mentioned, it is more a show than a serious warning by the European Union (EU), as usual.

The statements by Michael Mann is the spokesman for the Foreign Affairs chief of the European Union (EU), the biased Catherine Ashton, came after the Housing Minister of the regime in Tel Aviv, Uri Ariel, gave his final approval for further about 1,200 Israeli settlement units in the occupied eastern area of Jerusalem (al-Quds) and in the Israeli occupied areas of the once beautiful West Bank.

According to the information, the Israeli regime plans about 793 settlement units in the occupied east al-Quds (Jerusalem) and 394 units in the occupied territories of the West Bank.

After the last steps to continue the negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli regime, the new approval of further illegal Israeli settlement units in the illegally occupied areas comes as a slap in the face for every supporter of such negotiations. No surprise, we talk about the Israeli regime, don’t we?

The representatives of the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv and the Palestinian Authority met last month in Washington in order to continue the once stopped negotiations. The meeting between the regime in Tel Aviv and the Palestinian representatives was the first direct negotiations in three years.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since the violent occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds by the Israeli regime in 1967.
