Iran: Conflict in Syria is Part of Western Plot for Middle East

Former CIA-Director: Terrorists in Syria need more US support.

While a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which has recently again shipped weapons to the terrorists who are fighting in Syria according to a report by the Washington Post, said that the armed groups need sufficient support by the United States, although a recent British study has yet again underlined the fact that now even the majority of armed terrorists fighting in the Arab country are linked to Al-Qaeda and other Islamist terrorist groups, the Iranian President Rouhani spoke about the Western plot for the entire region of the Middle East and stated that the Syrian conflict is a part of a broader plot by the West for the region.

The developments and the turmoil in and around Syria are still more than just interesting and the statements by several officials from different countries on the globe are both also interesting and important or simply represent an unveiling of the real interests in terms of Syria and the Middle East by these governments.

While the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has confirmed in his recent interview with a Russian TV channel that the Syrian government in Damascus is willing to put its chemical weapons arsenals under an international control and to comply with the points of the four-stage plan by Russia and the so-called agreement between Russia and the United States that also includes that Syria joins the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), also the new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani spoke in a new statement about the Syrian conflict and mentioned the alleged Western plot in the Middle East.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said today in terms of the ongoing conflict and crisis in Syria that this conflict in the Arab country is merely a part of a bigger Western plot in the Middle East. Rouhani added that the conflict in Syria is a part of a wider conspiracy plan by certain Western states, which is actively pursued in the Middle Eastern region.

According to the new statement by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, the administration in Tehran is “well aware” about the facts that the “disputes (in Syria) are not over one person or one president or the coming to power of a particular faction in Syria.” Rouhani added that the conflict in Syria “goes beyond that and it is obvious that the West has plans for the whole region.” The President of Iran made this remarks in a speech to higher-ranking commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps today.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani also said in his speech to several top commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps that all what “happened in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain are rings of a single chain of events which aims to impact the region.” Further, all these events aim to weaken the resistance front in the Middle Eastern region against the Israeli regime and are a part of a broader Western plot against the resistance and against certain states of the region.

The Iranian President Rouhani also added that these Western governments would “wrongly assume” that Tehran seeks a military control of the Middle East, while the preeminent position of Iran in the region today is “due to its superior discourse.”

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani finally stated that the fighting of terrorism in the entire Middle Eastern region is the discourse of the administration in Tehran and that all the foreign countries, which have military bases and presence in the Middle East, are in principle “uninvited guests.” These “uninvited guests” (for example the United States) have to “leave the region” and to stop their meddling in the countries and developments in the Middle East. The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also said that these Western states have to end “their Iranophobia campaign.”

In regards of the turmoil and conflict in and around Syria, Iranian President Rouhani further mentioned that the main interest of Iran’s policy regarding Syria is the restoring of peace and stability in Syria and that Iran opposes any military strike against the Arab country because a US-led attack on Syria only increases the suffering of the Syrian people and boosts terrorism in the region. Rouhani finally added that all efforts of Tehran are “directed at restoring peace and stability to Syria, and we will accept whomever the Syrian citizens choose to run their country.”

Meanwhile, the former deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Mike Morell, said in a new interview, which was aired last night on CBS, that the Obama administration in Washington “should sufficiently” support the terrorists in Syria in order to increase the pressure on Syria’s President al-Assad. Former deputy CIA director Mike Morell thus wants a larger US support for Al-Qaeda in Syria and probably means by his statement about the increase of the pressure on Bashar al-Assad that the US should boost the power of the Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist groups on Syrian soil.

At least, there are not only more and more U.S. soldiers who oppose to fight alongside Al-Qaeda in Syria while other soldiers of the United States are killed by Al-Qaeda in e.g. Afghanistan, but there are also several studies that confirm that the majority of the so-called “Syrian rebels” have already links to Al-Qaeda or are a direct part of the Al-Qaeda branches on Syrian soil.

Morell explained his remarks by saying that Bashar al-Assad would currently feel like he is winning and thus, Syria’s President has “absolutely no incentive,” according to the former deputy CIA director. However, the situation on the battlefields is actually that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) finally has the upper hand against the US-backed terrorist forces, which include a huge percentage of Al-Qaeda-affiliated fighters.

Former deputy CIA director Morell added that more sufficient support has to be provided to the armed fighters of the “Syrian opposition” in Syria in order to “put enough pressure on Syria’s President al-Assad,” that will finally “bring him to the negotiation table.” However, Morell also stated that “not enough support provided to the opposition so that they feel that they don’t need to go to the negotiating table. It’s a very difficult balance to strike.”

One might assume that the recent Russian-American agreement on Syria`s chemical weapons stockpiles and the quick readiness by Damascus could mean that al-Assad is also ready to negotiate and to find a political solution to the Syrian conflict and the US war threats against Damascus, while the so-called (external) “Syrian opposition” mainly opposes this agreement between Russia and the United States, although it seems to prevent a US-led bombardment of Syria – allegedly also the homeland of the members of the “Syrian National Coalition” (SNC). Further, the fighters and heads of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) also reject such an agreement on Syria`s chemical weapons although it seems to prevent a war against their alleged home country.

This just shows who is actually ready to negotiate, who cares about Syria as country, and even who cares about the Syrian people. Any US-led military strike against Syria only increases the violence in the Arab country as well as it will increase the suffering of the Syrian people. Not to mention the dire consequences for Syria and even for the entire Middle East. Every side that supports a US-led war against Syria simply reveals its true colours.
