US / Syria: Kerry assures Muallem that no US intervention will happen.

According to several reports citing sources from Syria of today, it seems that the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, has assured towards Walid Muallem, the Foreign Minister of Syria, that the U.S. administration in Washington will not launch a military intervention in Syria and that the U.S. military will also not carry out airstrikes against targets in the Arab nation.

The reports say that the Foreign Minister of Syria and the U.S. Secretary of State had a phone conversation on August 22. In this phone conversation between the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem and the US Secretary of State John Kerry, the official from the United States has allegedly promised to find a political solution for the conflict in Syria and that Washington will not launch a military attack on Syria.

It is said, according to sources from Syria that the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry also assured to Syrias Foreign Minister Muallem in this phone conference on August 22 that no military intervention will be launched by the United States (US military) in Syria. The alleged informed source spoke under terms of anonymity due to the secrecy of the mentioned information, according to the report of Farsnews.

However, in terms of the reports by Farsnews, there are sometimes questions about the level of credibility in their coverage of specific topics and the other reports (mentioned above) are based on the report by the agency of Farsnews.

The alleged informed source from Syria said further that the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has underlined in this telephone conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, that Damascus will “not sit silent” if the Arab nation gets attacked by the U.S. military and its allies / proxies in the Middle East.

The source further added that John Kerry also spoke about the current investigation of the team of experts from the United Nations (UN) in Syria and that Damascus should do everything to support the fact-finding mission about the alleged use of chemical weapons in the Syrian conflict against Syrian civilians.

However, this is contrary to the publicly statements by John Kerry in terms of Syria and the use of chemical weapons.

The US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel implied on the last weekend, that the Pentagon has already updated its list of possible targets in Syria and that the updated list of possible targets (airstrikes, cruise missiles …) also includes units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel has also suggested on Saturday, that the Pentagon is moving towards a possible military intervention in Syria, although even the “drone warrior”, President Obama, has voiced some caution about military actions against Syria.

Hi, Chris. Welcome to the forum. Just a note; Syria is a secular country, rather harmonious, in which every faith, denomination and sect is represented. Out of respect to others who enjoy the forum, we stay off religion as a theme. You’ll find a lot of interesting posts regarding the military and political activities which are ongoing, and we usually take note of fresh looks at what the SAA, NDF, YPG and other groups are doing to combat the jihadis, who seem to be a polyglot bunch with no sense of decency – – this does not reflect upon their professed religious preferences, but in a comment upon their activities, crimes and atrocities. Again, welcome to the forum.
