The Archbishop of Sebastia from the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Theodosios (Atallah Hanna) of Sebastia, made several statements about the current violence and chaos in Egypt as well as about the Syrian conflict and the gruesome deeds of the Takfiri groups in both Arab states in a meeting with figures from the occupied area of Jerusalem (al-Quds).
Theodosios (Atallah Hanna) of Sebastia is the Archbishop of Sebastia (Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem) and the second Palestinian who holds this position of Archbishop since the establishment of this diocese in Jerusalem. Theodosios (Hanna) of Sebastia was born in 1965 and ordained in December 2005 at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. He also pointed out that this latest terrorist bombing in a bastion of Hezbollah (Lebanese resistance movement) in the capital Beirut is a part of their aims to destroy the unity in the Arab countries and to instigate terrorism and violence between the religions in these Arab nations.

Theodosios (Atallah Hanna) of Sebastia also said that they hope that the Arab communities will become mature and reject every fanaticism. They also shall reject violence and “the killing under the title of religions.” The Archbishop further stated that they hope that Syria will succeed in the confrontation with the systematic terrorism that is practiced against it.
He finally considered the violent events in the region as events, which are aimed on a distraction – the compass shall turn away from Palestine. However, the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah as well as many Syrians will never turn away their focus from Palestine and the illegal occupation by the regime in Tel Aviv.

The “faith only” advocates proposal is this; Saul was baptized so his sins could be forgiven, however, it was spiritual baptism.
The dilemma is, how can spiritual baptism be commanded? You cannot order someone to be spiritually baptized anymore than you can command a person to become tall or intelligent.
You can command repentance and immersion in water, as Peter did on the day of Pentecost(Acts 2:38). The results being, forgiveness of sins and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit!
You can command that men believe in Jesus. (John 3:16)
You can command that men repent. (Act 2:38)
You can command that men confess. (Romans 10:10-9, Acts 8:37)
You can command that men be baptized in water.(Acts 2:38)
YOU CANNOT COMMAND THAT MEN BE SPIRITUALLY BAPTIZED!

Your points are arguable among Christians, but this forum is not about primacy of any faith; a secular society embraces all men and women of good will; you don’t see Muslims wailing on cherry picked scripture, however much they might wish to do so. Please return the courtesy. I, too, am a Christian, but I’ve no use whatever for the Doctrine of Manifest Destiny. You might have better luck if you hire a tambourine player, drummer and trumpeter; set in in DC on the Mall, lead the crowd in ‘Throw a nickel on the drum and you’ll be saved’. and you might rescue some of the hundreds of thousands of apostates who lurk in Washington. Good luck with that, but put away your bath towel hat and fatwa forms. Please.
All those countries where Islamic radicals try to get rid of the Christian population will suffer badly as a result. As a matter of fact, Egypt’s, Lebanon’s or Syria’s economies grew with the well organized and integer business mind of the Christians there. They have the money, they have the connections and they have the TRUST. Go to Christian areas in those countries and compare…. Lebanon and Syria are the best showcases of Christian achievement and Islamic blunder. Whereever Christians are, small businesses thrieve, streets are cleaner, infrastructure works better, tourists are more welcome, people are openminded.
On the current crisis in Egypt: I hope that secular mind and openness succeed. Egypt should also be a reminder for what may happen in Turkey in a few years if Erdogan’s Islamization does not stop.
Probably Islam needs this experience of self-destruction through religious extremism. Christianity had its dark age, and people learned from it.
