Funeral Ceremonies of Late Scholar al-Bouti and his Grandson Start at the Umayyad Mosque

DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Ceremonies of the funeral of the late scholar Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti and his grandson started at the Umayyad mosque in Damascus. Earlier, the bodies of al-Bouti and grandson Ahmad arrived in the masque. Representative of President Bashar al-Assad, Minister of Awkaf ( religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed attended the ceremony.

Information Minister: Real Response to Crime Is Syrians’ Commitment to National Dialogue

Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that the late scholar, Sheikh Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti was an incomparable man with all standards and meanings. “Crime of assassinating al-Bouti and a number of prayers in al-Iman mosque adds to the criminal record of the terrorists,” the Minister said in a statement to journalists during the funeral of the martyr al-Bouti and his grandson. He added “the real response to this crime is the Syrian’s commitment to the national dialogue and amity among themselves.”

Bishop al-Kouri: We are strong due to our faith and love for our land

Patriarchal Vicar of the Roman Orthodox, Bishop al- Khoury, said: “They killed scholar al-Bouti because he had known the world of justice and because he wanted to unite Christianity and Islam.. he was not only for Islam, but he was also a word of amity and peace.” Al-Koury added “I told Obama that Israel is not strong.. we are strong due to our faith and love for our land and if you give Israel whatever you possess of war tools, we will not fall due to our faith and love for our land and Syria will remain strong.”
