Nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 with Android 4.3 are available as download.

The initial nightly rollout begins for Android 4.3-based custom ROM by the known CyanogenMod team. After several unofficial builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 after the release of the latest Android version 4.3 by Google, several initial official builds of the known and useful CyanogenMod custom ROM for Android devices are finally online.

The official CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly builds are now available for several Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S4 as well as the Galaxy S3 by the known manufacturer. Further, there are several initial nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2, based on Android 4.3, for the new Nexus 7 tablet, the Nook HD and also for the LG Optimus G. Further nightly builds for other smartphones and tablet pcs will be available later this day as well as in the next days and weeks.

It is even to expect that there will be an official nightly build of CyanogenMod 10.2 (Android 4.3) for the Acer A700 tablet as well as for the older Nexus devices and other smartphones and tablet pcs. The most Android devices that have been capable of running CyanogenMod 10.1 are also capable of running CyanogenMod 10.2 with Android 4.3. However, it remains to be seen which Android devices and tablets will receive the official nightly builds of the often used custom ROM from the CyanogenMod team.

Today the CyanogenMod download portal had a surprise for many visitors because the first nightly builds for several official supported Android devices, including various members of the Samsung Galaxy families, were published by the CyanogenMod team, as mentioned.

CyanogenMod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2) can be updated by the integrated CyanogenMod updater to CyanogenMod 10.2 with Android 4.3. However, the users have to flash the latest package of the Google Apps for 4.3 afterwards (one time). In addition, the users of CyanogenMod 10.1 who are going to update to CyanogenMod 10.2 (nightly builds) with Android 4.3 should make a nandroid backup before they apply the update to the now latest version of the custom ROM by the CyanogenMod team.

As usual, the new CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly builds are considered unstable as well as experimental and they miss some stuff so far. However, this comes as no surprise. The nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 with Android 4.3, better say, based on the source code of Android 4.3, will become better and better, as always.

The new nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 feature the new Focal camera app as well as a new Superuser version that is compatible with Android 4.3. In addition, there is Voice+ that allows the users to send Google Voice messages through standard SMS apps.

The link below takes you to the official download portal of the latest CyanogenMod nightly builds – perhaps you are lucky and there is already a CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly build for your android device available. However, as mentioned, make a nandroid backup before updating and do not forget about the Google apps package for Android 4.3. And here is the link to the latest Google Play Store version.
