COVID 19 Update in Syria: 2504 Total Cases, 2 Deaths in Past 24 Hours

COVID 19 total number of positive cases in Syria as per the Syrian Ministry of Health have reached 2504 cases with today’s discovery of 64 new cases, mostly in the capital Damascus.

The Ministry added in its statement that two patients died today making the number of deaths of patients who tested positive with COVID 19 until today to 100.

Out of the total cases of COVID 19 (Coronavirus), the total of cases that recovered has reached 569 with 19 cases recovered in the past 24 hours, as per the Ministry of Health.

That would leave 1,835 cases of positive COVID 19 in the country under quarantine.

Syria discovered the first case of COVID 19 in the country on the 22nd March and the first death of a patient who was positive with the virus was on the 29th of the same month.

The pandemic is adding extreme pressure on the Syrian economy and the Syrian healthcare system which was already suffering from the US-led War of Terror against the Syrian people for the past 9.5 years and topped with US and EU increased sanctions that affected largely the healthcare system and everything medical in Syria by blocking the country’s ability to trade through the US-controlled international banking system.
