Syria: Moscow won`t give in to the United States and John Kerry.

While the World Food Program (WFP) has voiced its serious concerns on the situation of the Syrian people and called on all sides, which are involved in the conflict in Syria, to allow all affected Syrians the access to humanitarian aid, the Professor James Petras said in a new interview that Moscow will certainly never agree to a US-led military intervention in Syria.

The American Professor and political analyst James Petras, who has written several books on topics around the Middle East and Latin America, also said in his interview with Press TV from Monday that he believes that the U.S. administration of President Barack Obama also wants to take the spotlight away from its crumbling economy by distracting the American people with a possible US-led intervention in Syria and several other (foreign) topics.

Professor James Petras added that he does not believe that Russia will give in to the recent blackmailing by the United States in terms of Syria and the upcoming resolution of the UN Security Council (UNSC). The United States want a reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter in the planned resolution at the UNSC (UN Security Council). This reference to the Chapter 7 would allow the use of (military) force in order to “restore international peace again.”

However, Russia and some other countries reject a resolution that includes any reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter and would thus include the option to launch a military intervention against Syria. According to recent statements by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the United States and especially U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry have tried or still try to blackmail Russia in terms of Syria and the planned resolution of the UN Security Council (UNSC).

The American-based political commentator and Professor, James Petras, also said in his interview with Press TV that he does not think that the United States have really a stand to carry out its foreign policies. In his opinion, if the U.S. President Obama further tries to maintain his “bombing mission on Syria”, he will certainly face an increasing opposition in the United States.

According to the statements by Professor James Petras, U.S. President Obama is already facing “enormous internal difficulties,” and this especially in his attempt to distract the attention of the American people by his plan to launch a war against Syria – and a war against Syria is, so Petras, a “way of deflecting the forthcoming economic crisis because of internal difficulties.”

The US-based Professor Petras also spoke about U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in his new interview with Press TV. John Kerry has recently lied towards congressmen in the United States in terms of the alleged “absence of Al-Qaeda” in the Syrian conflict and according to the statements by the political analyst and author James Petras, Kerry has also reneged on his commitment and Petras means that Kerry has signed off an agreement (with Moscow) in order to undermine the increasing opposition against any military action on Syria by the United States.

According to Petras, the American public was “running very strongly against the US bombing of Syria; the US Congress was prepared to vote against it.”

Thus, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made a detour and agreed to the Russian initiative and proposal in terms of the dismantling of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal – and when the pressure by the opposition against the American plans in regards of a military intervention in Syria was off, Kerry wanted to insert the reference to Chapter 7 of the UN Charter in the upcoming resolution by the UN Security Council (UNSC) in order to “renew its initiative to bomb Syria.”

As mentioned, the World Food Program (WFP) has in the meantime urged all sides involved in the Syrian conflict to allow all the affected Syrians in the Arab country the access to humanitarian aid and food.

The executive director of the World Food Program (WFP), Ertharin Cousin, said yesterday that a political solution is needed for Syria to end the long conflict in Syria.

Ertharin Cousin has then expressed serious concern about the humanitarian aspects of the crisis and conflict in the Arab country. It was further stated that the World Food Program (WFP) is spending about USD 30 million a week to help the displaced people in all regions of Syria.
