Syria: Terrorists could attack chemical weapons inspectors and blame Syrian government.
Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad made a new interview with China’s state television CCTV and spoke about his concerns in terms of the continuation of the UN mission in Syria and that the foreign-backed terrorist groups could attack the chemical weapons inspectors and blame Damascus for such a false-flag attack on the inspectors of the United Nations (UN).
Such a possible scenario of an attack under false flag in order to create a pretext for their foreign sponsors isn`t a new information or completely far-fetched. There were already some political experts and analysts who have spoken about such a possible scenario that the UN inspectors may get attacked by the terrorists groups and that the Syrian government and President al-Assad will then again be blamed for such an attack on the inspectors of the United Nations (UN).
Further, the foreign-backed terrorists could also attack the inspectors of the United Nations in order to e.g. prevent an investigation of the area in Syria’s Khan al-Assal, near the strategically important city of Aleppo (Halab). Just as the terrorist groups tried to prevent an investigation of an area on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus when the UN inspectors were in Syria in order to investigation the use of chemical weapons in alleged attacks on August 21.
The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad spoke about his concerns and such possibilities and scenarios in his new interview with China’s state television CCTV in Damascus. He said that the armed terrorist groups may receive orders by its foreign sponsors and backers to again stage a false flag operation against the inspectors of the United Nations (UN) when they arrive in Syria to continue the investigation of alleged use of chemical weapons in other regions of the Arab country or when other inspectors (e.g. from the OPCW) arrive in Syria in order to investigate the chemical weapons arsenal and to monitor the transport and destruction of the chemical stockpiles.
Bashar al-Assad said in his new interview with the Chinese TV channel that there is sadly a possibility that his government may be accused for such a false-flag attack afterwards and that some foreign sides want to create a situation in which they can blame the Syrian government for cheating in its obligations to destroy the chemical weapons arsenal and this is then related to the intentions of the United States to include a reference to the Chapter 7 of the UN Charter in the upcoming resolution at the UN Security Council (UNSC) on Syria.
In his interview with China’s state television CCTV, which took place in Syria’s capital Damascus, the Syrian President explained his concerns and said that the Syrian authorities know that these foreign-supported terrorists are obeying the orders of certain countries and that the governments of these countries have the intention to drive the supported terrorist groups to commit violent acts that could get the Syrian governance and the Syrian Army blamed for hindering the UN-Russian agreement on its chemical weapons arsenal and the joining of the CWC (Chemical Weapons Convention) by Syria.
The United States and Russia have agreed on the Russian proposal to destroy the chemical weapons arsenal in Syria and to prepare the joining of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) by the Syrian government. It was further agreed to dispose the stockpiles of chemical weapons in Syria under an international supervision (e.g. by experts of the OPCW) in order to prevent a possible US-led military strike on Damascus.
However, the United States began to blackmail Russia because Washington wants a reference to the Charter 7 of the UN Charta which would allow the use of (military) force against Syria in order to “restore international peace” again. This has confirmed that the figure of speech “A liar will not be believed even when he speaks the truth” is valid – this time in terms of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who still plays a dirty game after he has recently lied towards congressmen in the United States about the “absence of Al-Qaeda” in the Syrian conflict.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has already received a detailed list about the chemical weapons program in Syria last week. Russia expects that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) prepares a deadline for the operation to destroy Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles and Moscow only supports a resolution at the UN Security Council that does not include a reference to the partly dangerous Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.
Thus, the United States and Russia still argue and negotiated behind closed doors about the upcoming resolution, which should support the plan and mission by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The UNSC resolution should also include the information of how to protect the inspectors of the United Nations (UN) and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in Syria when they investigate the chemical weapons arsenal and monitor the transport and destruction of the chemical arsenals on Syrian soil.
There is a possibility that Russian units could serve as security for the inspectors and experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) when they are in Syria in order to monitor and control the disarmament of Syria’s chemical weapons.
In his interview with China’s state television CCTV in Damascus, the Syrian President also said that that three Western states would be fighting an “imaginary enemy.” He said that by submitting the draft resolution to the UNSC (UN Security Council) or by urging Washington and Moscow to agree on such a deal, the United States, Britain, and France are “just trying to make themselves winners in a war against a Syria which is their imaginary enemy.” Bashar al-Assad added that he was assured that the Chinese and Russian governments would ensure that any excuse for a military action against the Syrian nation “will not stand.”
Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad also stated that there are large quantities of chemical weapons in Syria because Syria has been producing chemical arms for decades and thus, it is simply normal that there is a large amount of such weapons in the Arab country. Al-Assad added that the chemical weapons were created due to the confrontation of Syria with the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv.
The President of Syria explained in regards of the large quantity of chemical weapons in his country that Syria is a “nation at war” and that it has territories that have been occupied by the Israeli regime for more than 40 years. Bashar al-Assad added that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is in any case trained to fight using conventional weapons and that no chemical weapons were used by the units of the Syrian army in the attacks near the capital, Damascus.

Al-Assad stated that the chemical weapons are stored under special conditions” to prevent any terrorist for other destructive forces from tampering with them, that is, destructive forces that could come from other countries.” Syria’s President finally said in his interview that there is in terms of the chemical weapons “nothing to worry about” and that the chemical arms are in a safe place and under the control of the units of the Syrian Army.
