Assad Delivers a Decisive Blow to US & Its Stooges

Syria"s president Bashar Al-Assad in Uniform.

While the west are still in denial dreaming of post-Assad plans, the Syrian president Dr. Bashar Al-Assad has already finished the post-Crisis plans and already started implementing it.

Lebanese Akhbar newspaper published the following article written by a Jordanian activist who met the Syrian president Dr. Assad recently with a friend Dr. Ibrahim Alloush, in a lengthy and open meeting, Mr. Saod Qubeilat reveals very important information.

Translated by Aliaa Mahfouz Ali

Three hours with President Bashar al-Assad, were enough to explain many issues discussed in the Presidential Muhajereen Palace, these issues ranged from the “full trust” relation with Moscow, abiding by the axis of resistance and supporting it, to the issue of reconstruction, rejecting an offer from the World Bank and the mutual understanding on the issue with Beijing.

On the Road to Damascus

My friend Dr. Ibrahim Alloush and I were invited to meet the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. We took a plane from Amman to Damascus, it was a 37 minutes flight. At Damascus airport, there were only few coming passengers who were on our plane. When the car driving us from the airport to the hotel, we felt so much worried. That road was known to be a hotspot for a long time. Few days before our arrival to Damascus, the army controlled the road but we were not so sure that danger is completely away. Not so many cars were driving on the road near the airport because fewer people are using the airport now back and forth.

Then, suddenly, we found ourselves amid annoying on-and-off traffic jam, until we entered Damascus. There we found ourselves amid the familiar bustle and noise in the capital of the Omayyads.

When we arrived at the hotel, we took a little bit of rest, and then we went out to the street, and we walked in the downtown area. We walked, at first, in the Hamra & Salhia streets where business shops were open and shoppers were all over the place. At the end of Salhia, there is a park where a big statue of late president Hafez Assad stands. Summer cafeterias were full of people, men and women, boys and girls, and children. Every now and then you can hear mortars explosions in the areas near Damascus. However, nobody gave it lots of attention or stopped what they were doing because of explosions. I said to myself “If I told the Jordanian people about this scene they will never believe me as their source of information is the petrol and western media channels. From there, we went on walking towards Marja Square, we walked around for a while. It was very similar to Salhia and Hamra crowded streets. After that, we went back to the hotel. In my room, I surfed some Jordanian websites. To my great surprise one of these websites published photos of huge protests in Salhia at the very same time that we were walking down the place. But, for an unknown reason, we didn’t see the protest.

At the Presidential Palace

The next morning, an officer in plain cloth came from the presidential palace. He introduced himself to us, saying: I am Colonel ( ……) and took us to meet the president. We got out of the car at the palace’s door. Another elegant person led us into the building without being held for checking. As we got closer to the president’s office door, President Assad surprised us when he came out of the office and shook hands with us. I thought he is the only Arab leader who does this with unofficial visitors. Others would leave their visitors at the waiting rooms attached to their office for some long or few hours until they give their visitors the honor to meet them. The president shook hands with us very cordially and invited us to sit down on low close armchairs at one corner of his office. The president’s office personnel closed the doors and we were left alone with the president. The president started with words of courtesy and compliments asking about our people in Jordan….etc. Then he said: I don’t want to talk so much, let me hear from you at first.

After that, we had a real long and deep discussion, as I called it later in a short post I wrote on my page on a social media website. We talked about everything: the war on Syria, friends, enemies, the Arab liberation movement, the neo-liberal movement in which Syria was involved for a period, secularism and enlightenment, the importance of the public sector in Syria, democracy, socialism, resistance… etc.

«Will not abandon the resistance and the occupied lands»

While we were talking , we heard, from time to time, the sounds of explosive shells in the areas near Damascus. I recalled the difficult times, which this extraordinary man must have experienced, for two years, his name was mentioned thousands of times on a daily basis in different international media channels especially that the armed rebels tried during different stages of the conflict to reach places not very far fro the center of Damascus. The mighty imperialist media machine and the Arab sub-machines, the enormous gulf funding and the influential intelligence agencies have worked hard to affect his morale, to make him doubt everyone and question everything close to him. They tried to make him question every state organization, and even doubt his own destiny.

I remembered the successive deadlines for toppling the regime, the asylum offers promoted by their media, the several attempts of offering enormous amounts of money offered to every official in the Syrian state or to the prominent writers and artists. All this posed intimidation of the tragic fate waiting for everyone of these people when the regime falls soon (as they alleged). This made many officials stop answering any unknown phone call especially if it was an international one. But here is the man whose image was extensively deformed sitting a few centimeters away from me. Because of my intellectual background and my university major on psychology, I could not help not thinking about the personality of the man talking to me. I had a very strong feeling that this man is so confident of himself and of his ability to sail the ship to safety. He bets on the future to the utmost extent even after two years of this horrible bloody conflict. He says that Syria will never abandon its patriotic and national principles nor its Arabism or the commitment of unity. Syria will never stop supporting the resistance. Syria will not sell out the occupied lands nor give up its independence. On the other hand, he realizes the success achieved by his enemies in misleading many people and deforming his image. However, he is ready to sacrifice anything so Syria won’t fall in the hands of the Americans, Zionists and their Gulf tools and Takfiri people no matter what they will say.

$21 billion from the International Bank for Reconstruction

When we met the President Assad, the Syrian army had achieved many successful field missions and created a tight cordon around Qussayr city which was a strategic place for the armed groups. It was clear that he feels, now, that Syria is on the way to bypass the bottleneck in which it was squeezed in during the past two years. And the mean plot played by the West and their followers reached an end. The Western countries, in contrast to what they show, are now racing to give him, under the table, lucrative offers in order to ensure their shares in the reconstruction process. Construction and extraction of oil and gas of which massive reserves were discovered off the Syrian coast. Indeed, the World Bank itself – which does not move without the will of the United States and its permission – gave him a ‘generous’ offer of $21 billion loan, on concessional terms, showing (the Bank) an urgent desire to finance reconstruction projects. All this was mediated by the famous godfather of privatization in Syria Abdullah Dardari. But he rejected the offer altogether. The final decisions taken regarding the entire reconstruction offers were made.

What goes on President Assad’s mind, more than others, is how to deal with the postwar period especially, how to deal with this widespread destruction in different parts of the country, and how to heal the wounds of the people who lost their loved ones in the war, some of them are homeless, and others have lost their homes, their livelihood or fortune… etc. But his biggest concern is related for another kind of destruction occurred in Syria and other Arab countries; the widespread disease of sectarianism. This phenomena is a serious threat to the existence of the nation and its future. Thus, the president pointed out that more work should be done in order to eradicate sectarianism.

Liberalization phase caused by external pressures

It should be noted here, that the man is well aware of the basic objective reasons for what happened in Syria; including, for example, that the liberal economic policies, which he said Syria was forced to follow them as a concession to the enormous pressure it had to bear upon fabricating the Hariri case against Syria (the intended is the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri), these policies had a very bad impact on Syria, and created many hotbeds of poverty in rural areas that quickly became incubators for extremism and crime. He said that he curbed this trend (I mean the direction of neo-liberalism), and stressed the role of the public sector in the steadfastness of the state and its cohesion, revealing that the armed groups, for this reason, targeting the public sector laboratories, looting and destruction, almost systematically and in dense style.

Arab League does not mean anything to the Syrians and Erdogan is a passionate member of Muslim Brotherhood.

The Arab League, which has become during the past two years, a ride for the Gulf states using it against Syria. He said that it no longer means a lot to the Syrians, and they rely, instead, on the establishment of the Association of the Arab peoples to mobilize energies, frame solidarity and defend the real interests. They will work in the next phase in accordance with this vision.

He described the Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as a passionate person. Erdogan used to show a special love to president Assad and his family, but he was biased for «Muslim Brotherhood», and the interests of «Brotherhood» are always more important than the feelings of friendship that he has for Assad. The Muslim Brotherhood interests are far more significant than the interests of both turkey and Syria. .And he listed many detailed examples of the strong tendency of ‘Brotherhood’ that Erdogan has. He blames the responsibility for Erdogan’s wrong and blundering policies on the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Even if some Syrian TV channels has kept saying ‘will not forget’ for the past two years, President al-Assad, remembers well the details of the Gulf rulers contribution in the war on Syria, which they fought with enthusiasm and tribal ignorance. He attributed some of the reasons for personifying the conflict that was practiced against him, because they know very well – as he said – that he does not have a lot of respect for them..

As for the United States and the West, they want to subjugate Syria and impose their terms. They care the most about the interests of «Israel». He said that if he had agreed to the demands of Colin Powell who came to him upon the American occupation of Iraq, particularly the expulsion of Palestinian resistance factions from Syria, US would have not shown all this hostility to him and to his country.

As for Israel, which strongly bet during the current crisis on the armed groups, and attacked Syria for their advantage, Assad said that Israel made a big mistake at the bet. The response to the aggression will be strategic and not at the spot. On the same day, the media had circulated story that the Syrian army destroyed an ‘Israeli’ military vehicle completely because it made an attempt to cross into a border village in the Golan controlled by insurgents. A firm statement issued by the General Command of the Syrian Army referred to this grave incident and said that Syria would not tolerate any Israeli’ attempt to cross its borders and threaten its sovereignty.

Activating the Golan front is a serious issue

Regarding the announcement of activating the Golan front; President al-Assad said that he is totally serious; but they do not think about creating a resistance that fire some random primitive shells every now and then leaving the initiative and the real act to the enemy. But, it will be a well- planned, continuous, well-prepared and influential resistance that will always make sure to be initiative in marking the field of conflict, as it is the case of Hezbullah resistance in southern Lebanon.

A full trust in the Russian friend

On the other hand, President Assad doesn’t forget his friends. He said that he granted extracting oil privilege off the Syrian coast to a Russian company, confirming full confidence that the Russians will not change their position towards his country; because they are in fact defending the security of their strategic and national interests, which will be at risk if the West and its followers managed to put their hand on Syria. He explained that the Russians did not try, however, at any stage of the conflict, to dictate any stance on the country. Even when they had different suggestions about some stages of the conflict, they only offered opinion leaving the decision to be made by Syria.. As for the reconstruction, he said that Chinese companies are ready to do its part in this area, and they had a mutual understanding in this regard.

No impressive results for «Geneva 2»

Now, the field facts imposed themselves on everyone, a situation that led to “Geneva 2”. But President Assad doesn’t seem to be optimistic that «Geneva 2»might bring impressive results. This is because those who sit on the other side of the negotiation table can not decide on behalf of the armed groups on the ground. And because the opposition parties, at home and abroad, have numerous and grave differences. In light of this fact, everything Syrians and Russians, want from this track is keeping the negotiation door open. They have already achieved, a number of positive important points resulted from the mere agreement between the Russians and the Americans to hold the conference. Even with all the Gulf states attempts in Doha last conference and in the General Assembly of the United Nations, to steal the right of representing Syria and giving the seat to the affiliated armed groups. The «Syrian regime» was invited to Geneva as the legitimate representative of the Syrians. Assad mocks the word “Syrian regime”. The rest will participate as opposition parties only.

Our dialogue with the President Assad was long and complex, but the most important thing was the atmosphere of love, honesty and intimacy. The president was very keen on listening to us and responds very gently and deeply to the ideas that he doesn’t agree to, he illustrated his stance and opinion very clearly. We often apologized for taking so much of his precious time, but every time he insisted to keeps us longer. Our meeting was about two hours and 45 minutes of his precious time. We considered this as a strong signal that he is very assured regarding the field situation all over Syria.

At the end of the meeting, we took permission to take private pictures with him, so he suggested to take the pictures in front of an old painting of “Hittin Battle” in the room next to his office, he said that he hanged on the walls of his office a photo of his late father and photo commemorating the battle of Hittin led by Saladin. Then we went out and he cordially said goodbye at his door.

Syria will become in the next phase a difficult number in the region, that no one can overcome;. It has suffered a grave ordeal and proved to be resistant to breakage and cancellations. This strengthened its military power with the great performance of the armed forces and with the support of its allies, especially the Russians. Syria has netted a wide controlled network of trustworthy allies. In terms of economy, Syria will be a great oil country but with a difference that Syria, as opposed to the gulf states, is an independent country controlling its own sources and using them for the good of its own people and to promote self-centered development.
