android 4 3 sony xperia update

Sony Xperia Z

After the new Android version, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, was offiically unvailed by Google at the “Breakfast in San Francisco” event yesterday, Sony is already right up there and has published information about which tablet and smartphone will receive the Android update to Android 4.3 on their company blog.

In addition, Sony just announced the first set of Android devices that will certainly receive Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, while other devices are currently “tested” if they are able to receive the update and to run Android 4.3 without huge lags or other problems..

While the Sony Xperia Z and the Xperia ZL are currently receiving their updates to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Sony Xperia ZR and Xpera Tablet Z shall receive the update to Android 4.2 in August.

Further, the owners of the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP, Xperia ZR, and the new Sony Xperia Z Ultra (phablet) can be happy because they will sure receive the update to the new Android version, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The only question is, when Sony will start to roll out this update of the mobile operating system Android by Google.

As mentioned, further devices from Sony with Android are currently tested in regards of an system update / ROM update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

In addition, Sony is even testing if it is possible to update tablets and smartphones with Android 4.1 directly to Android 4.3 without the middle step of updating these devices initial to Android 4.2.x and then to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

When the system updates / firmware updates for all the mentioned Sony devices are available is not yet stated by Sony.

It is to assume, under the consideration that the Sony Xperia Z and the Sony Xperia ZL currently receive the update to Android 4.2, that the next update to the now official and latest Android version, Android 4.3, will not happen in the next weeks – but hopefully before the release of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie by Google at the end of this year.
